CM: Arsenal set Oleksandr Zinchenko price tag amid AC Milan interest…see more

Arsenal are reportedly open to selling Oleksandr Zinchenko this summer, with AC Milan emerging as a potential destination for the Ukrainian international. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Gunners would be willing to sanction the 28-year-old’s departure if a bid in the region of £17 million is received.

Zinchenko joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 in a deal worth around £30 million, reuniting with former City assistant Mikel Arteta. Over three seasons at the Emirates, the versatile left-back has become a key figure in the dressing room, although silverware has remained elusive.

However, the emergence of academy star Myles Lewis-Skelly and the recent signing of Riccardo Calafiori from Bologna have cast doubt over Zinchenko’s place in Arteta’s starting XI. With two years left on his current contract, Arsenal may opt to cash in now rather than risk losing him for nothing closer to its expiry.

AC Milan are believed to be searching for a replacement for Theo Hernandez, who is reportedly set for a move to Al-Hilal. Milan sporting director Igli Tare is understood to be in contact with intermediaries facilitating a possible transfer for Zinchenko.

The Italian outlet claims the only obstacle to a potential deal is the player’s wage demands, although Zinchenko is said to be open to the move. The former Manchester City man is believed to be eager for regular first-team football ahead of the new campaign.

Milan are also monitoring Club Brugge’s Maxim De Cuyper as an alternative should a move for Zinchenko fall through.

Zinchenko, who has also been linked with Borussia Dortmund, admitted earlier this year that his future at Arsenal was uncertain after slipping down the pecking order. Speaking in March, he said: “I don’t know yet to be honest. If I knew, I could tell you. It’s still a long way to go until the end of the season… every single game is a final and you never know what is going to happen in football.”

Despite the speculation, Zinchenko expressed his ongoing commitment to the club: “Honestly, I am so happy to be part of this amazing club and team. It is really a joy to be close to these guys. Whenever the team and head coach needs me, I am there. Even if I will be in the stands, I will try to make an impact.”

Should Milan meet Arsenal’s valuation and overcome the wage hurdle, Zinchenko could be set for a new chapter in Serie A.
