With the end of the season comes the end of an era for some at Arsenal, with the Gunners releasing some players this summer.
The Arsenal retained list revealed that 20 players across the men’s, women’s and academy sides have been released.
Among those who won’t be returning to the Emirates Stadium next season is Raheem Sterling, who saw his loan spell from Chelsea come to an end.
With it being an important summer for the winger, he has been busy since leaving Arsenal.
Arsenal loanee Raheem Sterling struggled over the past season, failing to make much of an impact for the side.
Without forcing his way into the team on many occasions, supporters were left frustrated by the star and what could’ve been for him and the Gunners.
With Arsenal opting against a permanent deal for Sterling, his exit will create plenty of speculation for this summer.
The 30-year-old was excluded from Chelsea’s Club World Cup squad, seemingly cementing his future away from the club.
Since then, Sterling has taken to Instagram to show what his summer has been made of so far.
In the latest post, Sterling has been seen training in the heat, clearly preparing himself for whatever comes next.
There was some relaxation in there, too, but a lot of working out that shows he is stepping up his preparations for next season.
Following a difficult campaign on loan at Arsenal, as well as some difficulties at Chelsea, the options remaining for Sterling may be few and far between.
It’s unclear if there is Premier League interest in the experienced star, following his failure to score in the division last season.
There may be some options abroad, as plenty of English players look to land some new opportunities away from home.
For Sterling, it could be the perfect opportunity to try out a new challenge, but it all depends on what is on offer.
