The Jacksonville Jaguars have officially signed No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter to a four-year, fully guaranteed rookie contract worth $46.65 million, including a staggering $30.57 million signing bonus – the largest ever for a non-quarterback not selected first overall.The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner becomes the first player in that category to receive his entire bonus upfront, according to his agents Adie von Gontard and Ray Haija of Young Money APAA Sports.Hunter, a two-way standout from Colorado, is expected to play both cornerback and wide receiver in Jacksonville. He primarily lined up on offence during OTAs and minicamp, reflecting the Jaguars’ plan to utilise his unique versatility.To secure the dynamic playmaker, Jacksonville traded the No. 5 and No. 36 picks in the 2024 draft, a 2025 fourth-rounder, and their 2026 first-round selection to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for the No. 2 pick, along with fourth and sixth-rounders.At Colorado, Hunter averaged over 113 snaps per game and delivered on both sides of the ball, recording 96 catches for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense, and adding four interceptions, 11 pass breakups, and 36 tackles on defence.
