Rodrigo De Paul is expected to leave Atletico Madrid this summer, and AC Milan are among the teams keen on him as per a report.
Milan are looking for players that can come in and help fill the void left by the departure of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City, a player who scored 15 goals last season across all competitions.
While there are links with players like Granit Xhaka, Samuele Ricci and most recently Ardon Jashari, the management will no doubt be aware that a more forward-thinking midfielder with an eye for goal would be very useful.
According to TMW, De Paul will leave Atletico Madrid before 2025-26 given he has just 12 months left on his contract. The Argentine has a market outside Spain: Galatasaray like him and have taken concrete steps.
Those close to him are thinking about the possibility of moving Turkey, but in the meantime in recent days there had been contact with some Italian clubs, above all Milan. These are decisive days for the former Udinese player, who will soon make up his mind.
There could also be the possibility for him to cross the European borders and land in Saudi Arabia, where they are ready to make a move. Galatasaray are trying though and an official proposal could arrive soon to start negotiations.
The green light from Atletico has already come: De Paul is up for sale and can leave. His contract expires in 2026, and there is no possibility of renewing at a lower salary either. As a reminder, the Rossoneri were linked with the Argentine in 2021, before his switch to the Spanish capital.
The 31-year-old made a name for himself as a box-to-box midfielder at Udinese, amassing 71 goal contributions (34 goals, 37 assists) in 184 games across all competitions. With Atleti, he has 14 goals and 26 assists in 187 games.
