The Gunners have been wanting to sign a winger for the whole summer, as they want more depth alongside Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Furthermore, the Brazilian has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, and so they will need to cover if he leaves.
One player that Arsenal have been linked to is Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, who is reportedly set to cost around £70m. He has also been linked to Chelsea, but it is understood that Arsenal are the front-runners to sign him if he was to leave the Bernabeu.
However, it now seems that the Gunners are prioritising a move to sign Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze, who has been subject to serious transfer interest from rivals Tottenham Hotspur. The Gunners have reportedly agreed personal terms with the winger, who has a £68m release clause in his contract at Selhurst Park. Arsenal fans have been reacting to the news on social media…
First of all, there aren’t many people that would doubt Eze’s ability, as he has shown for both Palace and the England national team that he can be one of the most exciting attacking players around.
Last season, the 26-year-old scored 14 goals, and provided 11 assists for Oliver Glasner’s side. He also scored their winning goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
Plus, Man United and Tottenham have been linked to signing Eze, so it would be fantastic for Arsenal to get him ahead of two rivals. He can play on the left wing, and so could provide some competition for Martinelli, or cover for the Brazilian if he leaves to join Bayern Munich. Overall, he would be an excellent addition.
