Santiago Gimenez’s agent Rafaela Pimenta has revealed that her client had lots of offers on the table before choosing AC Milan.
Milan finally wore down the resistance of Feyenoord and managed to agree a deal for the 23-year-old after what was over a week of intense negotiations. Fabrizio Romano among other sources reported that the package is worth more than €35m, including bonuses.
The Mexican racked up six goals and three assists in a difficult first half-season for various reasons, and this led to suggestions that Milan will invest in another striker this summer.
Nonetheless, Massimiliano Allegri has apparently made it one of his missions to get the €35m man firing after a mixed first few months in Italy.
The FIFA agent Rafaela Pimenta – a colleague of Mino Raiola for years, before taking more of a leaving role – gave an interview to ANSA. The Brazilian also spoke about the move for her client Gimenez to Milan in the winter window.
“Serie A has its own charm for the style of play and the quality of life. A very human league in a world increasingly tied to business. Gimenez, for example, had many offers but chose to go to Milan because he wanted to live in Italy,” he said (via MilanNews).
