Agent Jorge Mendes has proposed Marco Asensio to AC Milan, a report claims, but some help is needed to make the deal realistic.
TMW are reporting that Mendes – who is very close to the Milan management – is looking for a new club for Asensio, who will have to lower his salary. In the last few hours there has also been talk of a discussion with José Mourinho and Fenerbahce, who would be enthusiastic about welcoming him.
Having just turned 29, and with his contract expiring in a year, Asensio would like to play more to try to be called up for the World Cup in the United States in 2026. He is not in Luis Enrique’s plans and it cannot be ruled out that there could be a co-participation in salary to facilitate a possible loan.
Last season, Asensio played for Aston Villa from January onwards. He made 13 Premier League appearances with three goals, in 745 minutes played. The Villans did not sign him permanently and mostly because of his €14m per year salary, having signed for PSG on a free from Real Madrid.
During his career, Asensio has played 447 games in all competitions, with 87 goals and 68 assists. With the Spanish national team, instead, he has 38 appearances, with two goals. Could he be tempting for Massimiliano Allegri? It is not the first time he has been linked.
