AC Milan added Jean-Philippe Mateta to their shortlist for the summer earlier this week, and he is becoming a top name it seems.
There is a need to add a ‘different’ striker to the Milan team this summer. Someone who provides something completely seperate to Santiago Gimenez. Of course, there is no shortage of options, but it has to be the right one.
Prices of targets are varying massively, with Dusan Vlahovic perhaps arriving on a free, whilst Viktor Gyokeres’ name is still present. However, there is around €40-50 million allocated to the position, so there is a budget there to spend.
At the moment, there is little clarity on the top target. However, it seems that this could change. As Sacha Tavolieri reports, the ‘top priority’, at least of the new names on the list, is Mateta, the French Crystal Palace striker.
With 37 contributions in the past two Premier League seasons, he is a hot property, and will inevitably be discussed for moves away this summer. However, this is where the Rossoneri have the advantage.
According to the report, he is ‘very keen’ to join the Diavolo, and his entourage are already putting pressure on the Eagles to open themselves to a departure.
