AC Milan are trying to close a deal for Guela Doue and they are readying a new improved bid to try and convince Strasbourg.
Heading into 2025-26, Emerson Royal is believed to be on his way out, Kyle Walker has gone and there are doubts about Alex Jimenez and Alexis Saelemaekers being natural full-backs. Thus, there is the need for Milan to sign a new starter for the right side of the defence.
One of the targets that has been repeatedly linked is Doue, who Milan actually faced as an opponent during the 2023-24 Europa League tie against Stade Rennais. Now he is at Strasbourg, and Sky reported earlier this week that he has told them he wanted the Rossoneri.
They also claimed that Igli Tare is preparing a new offer that is higher than the €15m one that was rejected. Gianluca Di Marzio has now confirmed that the Milan management will fire off an improved proposal soon.
After seeing Archie Brown fade away – with the left-back joining Fenerbahce – the Rossoneri are ready to accelerate for Doué. He is ‘the club’s top target’ at the moment, and the idea is to give Massimiliano Allegri at least one new full-back before leaving for the preseason tour in a week.
Guéla Doué made 34 appearances last season, his first for the RCSA after moving from Rennes last summer. According to L’Equipe, the new bid was €18m and it is still not considered enough for the Ligue 1 club, who value him higher.
