With Archie Brown having signed for Fenerbahce, AC Milan have already identified a new left-back target: Miguel Gutierrez of Girona.
Brown himself admitted in an interview with Fabrizio Romano that he was ‘ready to go’ to Milan as of Friday night, but Fenerbahce overtook the Rossoneri overnight. The Turkish club even mocked Milan in the announcement video, but the management must quickly move on.
Gutierrez instead of Brown?
According to Quotidiano Sportivo, Milan are back to square one – or almost – when it comes to their pursuit of two new starting full-backs.
Regarding Theo Hernandez’s replacement, Massimiliano Allegri said: “For now, Jimenez can do it. And Bartesaghi is an interesting profile.” They clearly won’t be enough. So much so that the original hottest names circulating were Destiny Udogie (Tottenham) and Andrea Cambiaso (Juventus).
Then, Oleksandr Zinchenko (Arsenal) emerged, but vanished just like the two Italians. Now, it seems Miguel Gutierrez of Girona is a name that the Rossoneri like, a player in the Real Madrid orbit and with a €35m release clause.
The 26-year-old Sergi Cardona of Villarreal is also a name, while his release clause currently stands at €15m. Meanwhile, a new offer close to €20m has been made for right-back Guela Doué but Strasbourg have a higher figure in mind for the 2002-born player.
