Manchester United and Ruben Amorim could miss out on their alternative striking target to Viktor Gyokeres to Serie A outfit AC Milan, according to stunning reports.
Viktor Gyokeres attracted interest from Manchester United and Arsenal amid the 27-year-old Swedish striker’s desire to leave Portuguese side Sporting CP this summer.
The Sweden international is under contract with Sporting CP until 2028 and Gyokeres carries a hefty £85m (€100m) release clause in his current deal.
Gyokeres played under Ruben Amorim at the Estadio Jose Alvalade and United had been linked with a potential transfer swoop for the Arsenal-linked striker.
But it is believed that United-linked Gyokeres will now move to Premier League side Arsenal this summer, with the Red Devils needing to pursue an alternative option.
It has been reported that Arsenal are expected to close a deal with Sporting for Gyokeres worth around £63.5m (€73.5m) amid their pursuit of a striker.
Dusan Vlahovic has been linked with Manchester United and the 25-year-old Juventus striker has also been on the radar of AC Milan this summer.
The Serbia international is out of contract with Juventus in 2026 and the Old Lady are reportedly keen to sell United-linked Dusan Vlahovic this summer.
Vlahovic featured in 44 matches across all competitions for Juventus last season and the Serbia striker netted 17 times and had five assists to his name.
Juventus are open to selling Vlahovic for as little as £20m and it is believed that the Serbian is playing hardball over his exit amid securing a compensation fee.
According to The Sun, United have been ‘hit’ with a ‘significant setback’ over their pursuit of the ‘bargain’ Juventus striker amid AC Milan’s transfer interest.
The newspaper reports that Vlahovic is set to snub a move to Old Trafford and instead link up with former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri at Milan.
Dusan Vlahovic has been one of the striking options linked with United amid the Red Devils’ interest in Sporting CP ace Viktor Gyokeres, who now appears Arsenal-bound.
The Juventus forward has been at the Turin-based club since 2022 after the Old Lady dropped a hefty £66.6m to sign him from Serie A outfit Fiorentina.
Dusan Vlahovic played under Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus and the current AC Milan head coach is believed to be an admirer of the former Fiorentina man.
The Sun added that Vlahovic ‘favours a move to AC Milan’ ahead of United if a deal can be struck with Juventus over his exit from the Allianz Stadium this summer.
