After seeing Archie Brown snatched away by Fenerbahce, AC Milan could miss out on yet another full-back target.
According to Calciomercato.com, Milan are finding their pursuit of both a left-back and a right-back quite difficult, and they are in danger of seeing another option become irremediably complicated.
Given their difficulty convincing Strasbourg to lower their valuation of right-back Guela Doué from around €30m (including bonuses), the Rossoneri have begun to explore alternatives like Marc Pubill.
The Spaniard plays for Segunda Division side Almeria, and has a more accessible asking price than other options, but Wolverhampton Wanderers appear to have made a move in the last few hours.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, the English club is pushing hard to beat out the competition and land the Spaniard. Despite a contract expiring in June 2029, after a failed summer 2024 move to Atalanta, Pubill has expressed to Almeria his desire to move to a bigger club.
Matteo Moretto meanwhile has given a brief update on X which confirms the news of his colleague, stating: “Wolverhampton are pushing to sign Marc Pubill.”
He is an Olympic champion with Spain, and his main strengths are physicality and ball progression. He finished last season with 36 league appearances and one goal, along with four more appearances in the Copa del Rey.
Pubill is valued at around €15m, and Juventus have also recently made inquiries about him, but Milan appeared more confident. Now, however, Wolves’ acceleration risks once again disrupting Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri’s plans for the flanks.
