Last season AC Milan came 8th in Serie A, the Italian side’s worst result in the league in ten years, failing to secure European football next season.
As such, the Serie A side are rebuilding having got rid of Sergio Conceicao as manager, in place appointing Massimiliano Allegri to the role.
Already this transfer window, Milan have signed Luka Modric on a free transfer and Samuele Ricci from Torino, whilst offloading Tijjani Reijnders, Theo Hernandez, Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino.
However, in a bid to bring in a proven Serie A attacker to the club, Milan have contacted Manchester United.
The Red Devils have both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund at Old Trafford who are struggling to perform in the Premier League.
Zirkzee has failed to make an instant impact at Old Trafford in his debut season with the club after arriving from Bologna last summer.
However, Hojlund has been has been with The Red Devils for an extra year, still failing to provide the consistency needed for a first-choice Premier League striker.
Despite his recent 21-game goal drought however, Milan have made enquiries for Hojlund to offer him a life-line by returning to Italy.
Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that the contact has been made in the last few hours to understand the details of his availability.
Hojlund has been linked to several Italian clubs like Napoli, AS Roma and Juventus, as he’s still held in high regard from his time with Atalanta before joining The Red Devils.
The Denmark international is the second player Milan have made contact for today, as the Serie A side have also made enquiries with Spanish side Valencia over a move for Javi Guerra.
