AC Milan are in danger of letting their main summer target pass them by, and others will be ready to pounce on the opportunity.
Despite Matteo Moretto stating that the deal was not off this morning, there is a very real chance that Milan will not land Jashari this summer, and it could stretch beyond that. Other interest is present, and whilst the Rossoneri have been at the table, there has been no alternative for Jashari. That could change, though.
If his dream club are forced to leave the equation, he may go elsewhere, and there are plenty of suitors.
This morning, Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) wrote that a stalemate is in place, and none of the parties want to move just yet. However, other movements are occurring. Brugge have already begun to speak to Premier League clubs about the situation; Nottingham Forest and West Ham have seemed to bite.
An auction is hoped for, with both English clubs capable of getting involved at the price. Though it is not in the Diavolo’s interest to take part in these proceedings. Their final offer is there, waiting for Jashari.
So, who else for Milan, then? At the start of the summer, Javi Guerra’s name was floated around as an option. However, things have gone quiet for the Spaniard recently. For what it is worth, he was offered a new contract recently, but turned it down, perhaps hoping for the Rossoneri’s involvement once again.
Alternatively, with six midfielders already in the squad, it is not impossible that Allegri opts to keep his team as it is.
