Christian Pulisic is unsurprised by the Portuguese international Rafael Leão’s current form, which has been a highlight of AC Milan’s preseason.
The season hasn’t officially started, but Rafael Leão is already making waves in Italy with his impressive form.
The Portuguese international shone in AC Milan’s 4-2 victory over Liverpool, earning widespread praise from the Italian press.
For Christian Pulisic, however, Leão’s impressive form comes as no surprise. “I don’t know why people continue to doubt his potential. We know him well, and seeing him score like he did on Saturday against Liverpool, after that amazing run, doesn’t surprise us.
“He’s a top player. Just like the whole team, he needs to find consistency, and then he’ll be even more decisive,” Pulisic told La Gazzetta dello Sport, via Abola.
He also commented on Luka Modric’s arrival at the San Siro. “He’ll bring experience and invaluable quality during games. He’s been a player of exceptional quality for years.
“I used to watch him as a fan, and then I also played against him. It’s hard to get the ball off him, and what’s more, he’s a leader who will give AC Milan that consistency in performance. He’ll be valuable both on and off the field,” Pulisic added.
Meanwhile, Leão’s future at Milan is still undecided as top clubs in Europe are looking to sign him this summer.
The likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Liverpool, who recently entered the race for the winger, have all declared interest in the forward.
