In the past few days, the road to Zachary Athekame has lit up massively. Now, a deal could be closed this week, with Milan looking to solidify their defence before the games against Leeds United and Chelsea this weekend.
However, there is more to come, it seems, with the club working on another player they identified as an alternative to Guela Doue.
According to Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte, via MilanPress, the Rossoneri are ‘ready to complete’ the signing of Jon Aramburu. The Venezuelan right-back spent the past two years playing for Real Sociedad in the top flight of Spanish football, becoming their number one right-back choice last summer.
At 23 years old, he is ready to take the next step, and it seems that that will be towards the Diavolo, who have beaten Newcastle United to the signing. The Geordies reportedly offered a fee of €10 million, which was rejected by Sociedad, whilst Milan offered the €15m asking price.
Now, a meeting will be held by the club with Aramburu, and a decision is expected in the next few days.
