TBR Football can exclusively confirm the latest around Arsenal and Oleksandr Zinchenko and why he’s becoming a problem for Andrea Berta.
The Gunners have been busy bolstering their ranks this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to get his squad ready to challenge on multiple fronts.
Arsenal have also been moving players on, and more are expected to leave before the transfer window slams shut in September.
Zinchenko is surplus to requirements, but Arsenal haven’t managed to move him on yet – and TBR Football can explain why.
Graeme Bailey, speaking exclusively to TBR Football, has explained how Oleksandr Zinchenko’s high wages are putting other clubs off making a concrete move for him.
“The only reason Zinchenko is really still at the club is because of his high wages,” Bailey said.
“Yeah, we did see that Ajax had made inquiries about him. But – not literally – I think it made their eyes and noses bleed when they heard what he was earning!
“That’s probably the reaction of most clubs around Europe these days. Premier League salaries are just on another level now.
“And it’s not just Arsenal – we’re seeing this across the board. That’s why so many players are getting stuck, unable to move.
“Clubs outside England simply can’t match those wages.”
Leandro Trossard has indicated to Arsenal that he’s keen to look at options to leave the club this summer, TBR Football understand.
Reiss Nelson is also expected to leave, with Fulham eyeing a reunion, while Fabio Vieira and Albert Sambi Lokonga are also in line to exit the Emirates.
Arsenal have already moved numerous players on, either through free transfers, sales or, in Takehiro Tomiyasu’s case, a mutual contract termination.
