Arsenal supporters are calling for a major statement in the transfer market, urging the club to sign both Rafael Leao and Eberechi Eze this summer. While Mikel Arteta’s side already boast firepower in Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard, fans believe Arsenal need another elite winger and creative midfielder to match Liverpool’s transfer moves. The Premier League champions are expected to bid for Alexander Isak this week, adding pressure on Arsenal to respond decisively.
Leao and Eze are both considered top targets for Arsenal, with talks ongoing with Eze’s representatives. TBR Football recently reported that the Crystal Palace star has told friends he expects to join the Gunners this summer, though no final decision has been made.
Meanwhile, Leao has long been admired by Arteta, especially after his impressive display for AC Milan during their pre-season meeting in Singapore. Back in April, Arsenal scouts highlighted the Portuguese winger as one of the club’s most realistic big-money targets, with his direct pace and dribbling seen as ideal for Arteta’s left flank.
Social media has been buzzing with calls for Arsenal to sign both players rather than choose between them. One supporter wrote: “We need to get Leao before Eze. But get both of them, too. Just Leao has to come first.” Another added: “Eze and Leao would make our transfer window 10/10.”
Fans believe signing both would elevate the squad to a level not seen since the Invincibles era, with one post reading: “Very good feeling about this season, especially if we bring in Eze at a minimum, add Leao, and we win the league.”
Both players enjoyed strong campaigns last term, each recording 16 goal contributions in their respective leagues. Leao scored eight goals and provided eight assists for AC Milan in Serie A, while Eze matched that tally for Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
According to Squawka, Leao created 58 chances and completed 59 take-ons in 34 matches, while Eze created 57 chances and completed 67 take-ons across the same number of games showing their close creative output despite playing in different leagues.
With Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard the only natural options on the left, Arsenal clearly need more depth and quality in attack. Eze would bring versatility and ball-carrying from midfield, while Leao offers direct pace and 1v1 brilliance. For a side aiming to dethrone Liverpool and Manchester City, signing both players could turn a strong squad into a title-winning one.
