Tottenham Hotspur have already signed one Arsenal target in the shape of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United.
Arsenal were seriously interested in Kudus in January, however, they ultimately watched the attacking talent head to N17 this summer.
In response, Arsenal have signed plenty of dynamic forwards themselves – Viktor Gyokeres is the club’s new #14 and Noni Madueke has also arrived from Chelsea.
Rio Ferdinand compared Madueke and Kudus recently – and he didn’t agree with any conclusions that Spurs had signed a much better player.
But with both Tottenham and Arsenal still in the mix to sign more attacking prowess before the end of August, Thomas Frank’s side might be able to steal a march in one particular race.
TBR Football recently confirmed that Tottenham have reopened talks to sign Eberechi Eze in addition to their interest in Manchester City’s Savinho.
James Maddison’s serious knee injury seems to have sparked Daniel Levy’s side back into life, and Spurs are now back in the race for Eberechi Eze.
Of course, Arsenal want Eze themselves and they’ve held talks with both the player and Crystal Palace.
It’s previously been revealed that Eze would love to sign for Arsenal – news which might have disappointed those across north London hoping he’d be playing under Frank next season.
However, journalist Fabrizio Romano has just shared an interesting update in that regard on X – Eze would be ‘keen’ to sign for Spurs.
Romano wrote: “Understand Tottenham are also back in talks for Eberechi Eze in separate deal from Savinho.
“Spurs trying again for Eze while they work on Savinho, following Maddison injury and Son exit.
“Eze keen but deal depends on Palace as release clause expired.”
Following Crystal Palace’s FA Cup and Community Shield win, no one would blame Eze if he did want to stay at Selhurst Park.
But given that the 27-year-old seems keen to start a new chapter, Spurs might actually be the better fit for the England international right now.
Arsenal’s footballing project is much more advanced right now – they are much more likely to be challenging for the Premier League or Champions League.
But Mikel Arteta’s side aren’t crying out for a number 10, both Martin Odegaard and Ethan Nwaneri are already competing for a similar role.
However, given Maddison’s knee injury, Tottenham are desperate for a number 10, especially given that Morgan Gibbs-White vetoed a move to north London.
So, whilst Eze might also be keen to join Arsenal, it makes sense that the ‘unbelievable‘ Palace midfielder, as dubbed by manager Oliver Glasner, would also be tempted by a move to the Gunners’ rivals.
