Arsenal transfer target Rodrygo could be made available on loan nearer the end of the transfer window, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.
The journalist believes the Brazilian won’t be happy about sitting on the bench, and there is a chance that Real Madrid will allow him to leave on a temporary basis so he can get more first-team football:
“I think this is a situation that could ramp up at the end of the window, because there are a few Premier League clubs credited with an interest in Rodrygo, who is on decent money at Madrid.”
“I do get the impression they are open to offers, because, again, they’ve got so many options going forward, it’s difficult to see him playing too many minutes in the first team.”
“He didn’t get a lot of game time at the Club World Cup. Arsenal have been mentioned, Liverpool are looking for a left-sider, having let Luis Diaz go, and again, I think the nearer we get to the window, the more inclined Real Madrid might be to accept a loan offer.”
Pre-season has shown that the Gunners don’t really have a strong threat down their left-hand side, with Gabriel Martinelli continuing to struggle for form.
The Brazilian’s progress has stalled over the last two years, and many fans are hoping that an upgrade will be brought in.
With Leandro Trossard potentially on his way out of the club, there is an opening for Rodrygo to be snapped up ahead of the deadline.
Of course, a lot would have to go right for the 24-year-old to make the move on loan. Firstly, rivals such as Manchester City and Liverpool would have to cool their interest and opt against signing him on a permanent deal. Secondly, Real would need to agree to pay part of his £210,000-a-week salary. We shall have to wait and see how things develop between now and September 1st.
