Manchester United’s eye-catching transfer window has been one of the talking points of the summer.
Ineos have made big moves this offseason to shake up Manchester United’s attacking options, bringing in three new players.
Benjamin Sesko will lead the line, supported by proven Premier League stars Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
While it may take them a little while to gel and learn each other’s games, this trio has high potential, and should provide a major improvement on last season.
Former Premier League star Theo Walcott says he feels United may finally be getting their act together, and their rivals may need to start worrying.
Speaking ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League opener against Arsenal, former Gunners star Theo Walcott admits United are looking more dangerous.
“I like it. It’s actually quite scary,” Walcott began, before talking up the track records of the club’s three major signings.
Walcott believes that adding the trio alongside star player Bruno Fernandes makes for a potent combination.
He told the US Overlap: “I just think those goals added into this team, with Bruno having now this luxury of like, ‘goodness me, if I put this, these players going to put it away’. That’s a problem for the league.
He clarified: “It’s a good thing for the league, because we want to see United up there.”
Fernandes has led Manchester United in assists ever since he joined the club in 2020, and is set to play a deeper role this coming season, to accommodate the new signings.
Mbeumo scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season, with Cunha netting 17 in all competitions.
Bryan Mbeumo turned down interest from multiple clubs to sign with Manchester United, landing his ‘dream move‘.
Mbeumo carved out an impressive reputation at Brentford, with United paying a fee of £66 million to clinch his signature.
Walcott admits he wishes Mbeumo was playing for his own former club, Arsenal, commenting: I like Bryan Mbeumo, Arsenal should have got him many years ago.
“That was one play I just thought, take the load off Saka, take it off him. I’m a big fan of his. Big fan.”
Manchester United’s new signing has a chance to intensify Walcott’s disappointment this weekend, while former Gunners target Benjamin Sesko will also be looking for a dream debut.
