Arsenal are in concrete talks to sell Jakub Kiwior to FC Porto after he was excluded from their matchday squad to face Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
Kiwior, 25, was omitted by Mikel Arteta at Old Trafford and he could be set to leave the Gunners before the summer transfer window closes on 1 September.
The Poland international made 30 appearances across all competitions last season, however he only started 10 Premier League matches and he has fallen further down the pecking order following the summer signing of Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera.
The new arrival was selected on the substitutes bench alongside Jurrien Timber and Myles Lewis-Skelly at Old Trafford, with Kiwior left at home amid heavy rumours of a move to Porto.
Francesco Farioli’s side submitted a loan with an obligation-to-buy offer in late July and they remain in advanced talks with Arsenal, as per Polish outlet Meczyki, despite seeing their initial bid turned down.
AC Milan are also eager to sign Kiwior this summer, amid his uncertain future at the Emirates Stadium, but Porto are determined to win the race for his signature and the deal could be “resolved” this week.
In fact, a move to Porto is now “very likely,” according to Meczyki.
In addition to Kiwior, Arsenal are also close to offloading Oleksandr Zinchenko, and reports in Turkey state that an agreement worth roughly €10 million has been reached with Fenerbahce.
The Gunners have only sold Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos for a combined fee of €8m so far this summer, while Thomas Partey, Kieran Tierney, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jorginho have all departed on Bosman deals.
On the other hand, they have spent €224.2m on the signings of Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga and the aforementioned Mosquera.
