Jakub Kiwior’s Arsenal future looks increasingly uncertain, with CaughtOffside reporting that Everton, Wolves and Crystal Palace are all showing interest in the Polish centre-back.
The 25-year-old was left out of the squad entirely for Arsenal’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday, a telling sign given the competition for places at the back. With Cristhian Mosquera and Riccardo Calafiori now providing depth for Gabriel, Kiwior has slipped further down Mikel Arteta’s pecking order.
A source from Poland has also confirmed that talks regarding his exit are taking place, with FC Porto another interested party.
Kiwior proved himself to be a solid deputy last season, especially when Gabriel suffered a hamstring injury, but there is a growing sense that Arsenal cannot afford to keep such a valuable asset sidelined. Signed for around £20million in 2023, his current valuation is around £30million – meaning the Gunners would be well-placed to turn a profit if they cash in now.
It feels like the right moment to make a decision. Kiwior has shown he can perform at Premier League level, and there’s no shortage of clubs willing to give him that platform. But with Arteta now reshaping his defensive options, his pathway to regular football at the Emirates looks blocked.
From an Arsenal perspective, the logic is simple: you can’t let a £30million player sit outside the matchday squad. If he rarely plays, his value will plummet. If offers arrive at the expected price point, it would be smart business to take the profit and reinvest it into other areas of the squad.
Would you sell Kiwior now, or keep him as cover?
I think the key is, if his sale enables us to make more attacking additions, it’s worth it. More sales will be needed though, with the likes of Albert Sambi Lokonga, Reiss Nelson and Fabio Vieira also left out the squad today.
