TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Inter Milan have now spoken to Arsenal about signing Leandro Trossard.
Despite playing more games than any other player for Arsenal last season, Leandro Trossard is now on the periphery of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad.
The Belgium international was on the bench against Manchester United on Sunday, but he didn’t play a minute – instead he watched Noni Madueke come on at left wing.
TBR Football recently revealed that Trossard was keen to explore his options at Arsenal – he’s not content with a watching brief this season.
And as sporting director Andrea Berta looks to move players on at the Emirates, Trossard does have interest on the continent.
Chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Inter Milan have now asked about signing Trossard before the end of the transfer window.
Inter had been attempting to sign Ademola Lookman from their Italian rivals Atalanta, but that deal has now collapsed.
Of course, Arsenal have shown interest in Lookman themselves – a left-winger who has made it very clear that he’s keen to find a new club this month.
And in terms of Arsenal’s attempts to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid, Inter’s new interest in ‘unbelievable’ Trossard, as dubbed by Ian Wright, could prove very timely.
Inter are working on potential options to strengthen their attack right now, and Man United’s Jadon Sancho has also been discussed.
But in terms of Arsenal players potentially heading to Italy, a different member of Arteta’s squad is now keen to make that exact move.
TBR Football can also reveal that both AC Milan and Juventus have made fresh contact to sign Jakub Kiwior.
Kiwior has been keen to leave Arsenal for some time, and although the Gunners are prepared to hand him a pay rise if he stays, the Polish defender has his heart set on a return to Italy.
Interested Italian sides would ideally like to take Kiwior on loan with an option-to-buy, but Arsenal want to sell, and if not, they at least want an obligation-to-buy included in any loan move.
Kiwior does have interest from FC Porto too, but Italy remains the priority for the defender and sources at the Emirates are convinced he’s going to leave.
Providing further insight, Bailey explained: “As we have been told throughout the summer, Arsenal and Arteta love Kiwior, and they are more than happy to keep him and give him a wage rise.
“But the one thing Arsenal can’t provide is first-team football, and that is what is on offer from a number of clubs should he leave.
“Kiwior did not make the bench on Sunday with Mosquera selected ahead of him, and that merely underlined the fact that he’s just a squad player at Arsenal.”
