The Gunners began the new season with a 1-0 win against Man United at Old Trafford, and will hope to progress ready for the next game against Leeds on Saturday.
However, Mikel Arteta will also be wary that the transfer window is still going on, and he may want to add to his team even more before the end of the window. Reports have said that Arsenal would like a left winger, with Real Madrid star Rodrygo linked with a move to the Emirates.
But, it has been said that the Gunners would only spend big on a new player if they were to make a couple of player sales, and several names have been touted to leave. Recent reports are now saying that West Ham would like to sign an Arsenal star.
Midfielder Fabio Vieira’s future at the Emirates is very uncertain. He spent last season on loan at Portuguese side Porto, and now that he’s returned, looks set to leave Arsenal permanently this summer.
Bundesliga side Stuttgart have been linked with Vieira, but reports also suggest he could move to Premier League rivals West Ham, who lost 3-0 to Sunderland on the opening day.
According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, Graham Potter will have Vieira on his list. Brown told Football Insider: “Arsenal have been looking to sell Fabio Vieira. He doesn’t have a part to play under Mikel Arteta, so they want to cash in.
“His agent has been in contact with a number of clubs to find him that move, and I believe West Ham are one they’ve spoken to. Graham Potter wants to sign a new midfielder, so I have no doubt he’s a name on their list.”
Vieira has an estimated market value of around £19m, and at the age of just 25, he still has plenty left to show in the Premier League, so he could provide the Gunners with a cash boost that they could re-invest into someone like Rodrygo.
