Arsenal have signed six new players in this transfer window, but they are not done yet.
The Gunners have brought in Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres already.
Those signings make Arsenal a lot stronger than they were last term, but they could still do with another attacker before the window shuts.
Eberechi Eze looks like he is going to Tottenham, while a move for Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes is an extremely expensive deal to pull off, as things stand.
Fabrizio Romano has now shared another potential option for Arsenal.
Ademola Lookman has dominated transfer news in Italy over the last few weeks.
The Nigeria international has been brilliant for La Dea, but he made up his mind to leave the club in this transfer window.
Lookman issued a public transfer request after Atalanta rejected Inter Milan’s offers to sign him earlier this summer.
Now, Romano has revealed that the Nerazzurri have ended their pursuit of Lookman, and the doors of the Premier League could now open for the Atalanta forward.
Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Lookman in the past, but there hasn’t been a concrete move by the Gunners yet.
However, Romano has suggested that Lookman could become an option for the North Londoners if Leandro Trossard leaves the club.
He said in a video on his YouTube channel: “Let’s see what’s going to happen, guys, because Lookman could be an option for English clubs. At the moment, still nothing advanced, but for example, the agents of Lookman always gave priority to Inter, but now with Inter no longer being in the race, Premier League clubs could be attentive.
“So, for example, let’s see what happens at Arsenal. Arsenal are very happy with the squad they have right now up front. In terms of age, probably Lookman is not exactly the profile of player that Arsenal usually sign.
“But maybe if Trossard decides to leave in the final weeks, that could be an opportunity.
“So, let’s see what’s going to happen. But Lookman could be an interesting name for these final weeks for Premier League clubs.”
Lookman has been Atalanta’s star man in recent seasons.
When Arsenal faced the Bergamot giants in the Champions League last season, all eyes were on what the £50m forward could do because of the transfer links.
However, Lookman couldn’t do much against the Gunners.
In his 89 minutes on the pitch, the attacker failed to have a single shot at goal. He completed just two dribbles all game, lost possession nine times and won just six of his 14 duels. (Sofascore)
Lookman is not a bad player by any means, but Arsenal should be looking at someone significantly better in the final weeks of the summer window.
