Arsenal are looking at signing Chelsea attacker Raheem Sterling again on loan as an option on the left wing, according to AFC AMDEN.
The Arsenal insider, who is famous for breaking news about the North London club on social media and is followed by the likes of Kaya Kaynak, Simon Collings, Charles Watt and Sami Mokbel on X (formerly Twitter) made the claim this evening.
The Gunners still want an attacker but a move for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze is off, while Real Madrid say the North London club have not approached them for Rodrygo.
It appears Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta now wants to reunite with Sterling again as he looks for competition for Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli.
The Gunners paid just around 30 per cent (£97,500) of the £325,000 wages of Sterling to secure his loan services last season, and a similar deal could be on the cards again.
The 30-year-old made 28 appearances for Arsenal last term, weighing in with one goal and five assists.
He remains out of favour at Chelsea as he is currently training away from the first-team, and a return to North London could be happening again.
Arsenal want quality depth in attack, and it seems Arteta has identified Sterling as a last resort.
It is not a deal the fans would be pleased with given that Tottenham Hotspur are now closing in on a move for Eze.
However, the former Manchester City star could be a better option than bringing nobody in at the end of the summer transfer window.
Nothing is guaranteed right now as the link to Sterling could just be whispers making rounds at the club or AFC AMDEN trolling the fans, and Arsenal could still look elsewhere in the end.
It is not unusual for popular accounts to make up posts just to get the attention of the fans or spark discussions, and this could be one of those posts.
Another name could emerge in the coming weeks, but they have decided to hand Trossard an improved salary, which means the Belgian will not be sold this month.
Martinelli will likely remain at the club beyond this summer too, and a loan deal looks like the only realistic signing they will be able to make now.
