Report: Rodrygo could follow Eberechi Eze to Arsenal if one thing happens this weekend…see more

Eberechi Eze is Arsenal-bound after a whirlwind of a transfer saga, but could Real Madrid winger Rodrygo be joining him? TBR Football can reveal, it’s a possibility.

Eze is heading to Arsenal after the Englishman snubbed Spurs in one of the stories of the summer transfer window.

Eze looked destined for Tottenham, but after Arsenal submitted a formal bid, there was only one destination for the Crystal Palace man.

So does that mean Arsenal are done bolstering their attacking options? Maybe not, Mikel Arteta wants to play Eze as the No.10, which means Arsenal still have a left-winger issue. Could Rodrygo fill that gap?

Rodrygo has been rumoured to Arsenal for the last month, with the Brazilian most certainly unsettled at the Bernabeu.

The 24-year-old has been shunned amid transfer speculation by Xabi Alonso, with Rodrygo benched for the La Liga opener.

The Spaniard downplayed this and stated the decision was tactical, but if it happens two times in a row, there has to be something there, TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, has alluded to.

“Rodrygo didn’t get any minutes at all in the last match,” Bailey begins. Let’s see what happens this weekend.”

“Rodrygo to Arsenal still has some legs. This is why we reported earlier this week that Arsenal could be interested in a possible loan move, and I wouldn’t rule it out.
“They’ve got a good relationship with Madrid. They’ve done it before with [Martin] Odegaard. I certainly wouldn’t rule that out, especially if Rodrygo pushes in the last 10 days, which is quite possible.
“And I still wouldn’t 100% rule [Manchester] City out of the equation just yet. But if Rodrygo doesn’t get game time this weekend, he’s one of those players – like many others in the first two weeks of the season – who could move if he’s not used.
“If he doesn’t start this weekend and doesn’t get minutes, he’s really going to come into focus.”

Rodrygo’s side face Real Oviedo this Sunday, where the Brazilian will find out his fate not just in this match, but potentially for the season ahead.

An interesting one to keep your eyes on as an Arsenal and a Premier League fan, let’s be honest.
