Gbs: How Gimenez’s impact transforms Milan in win over Fiorentina…see more

The credit goes to the Portuguese forward, of course, but Santiago Gimenez’s entrance shifted the balance.

The Mexican striker, who started on the bench due to his late return from international duty, changed the match as soon as he stepped on the pitch.

His presence brought depth, movement, and clear reference points to Milan’s attack, turning a static side into one that was lively, fluid, and capable of turning the game around.

Allegri’s team, which had been stuck and predictable until that point, began to move the ball better, create space, and most importantly, allow Rafael Leao to perform at his best, as pointed out by Milan News.

Gimenez didn’t score this Sunday, but he made an impact like a true striker. His off-ball movement, link-up play, and ability to draw defenders opened up space and gave Milan more rhythm going forward. And let’s not forget, it was Bebote who earned the penalty that Leao converted (even though Santiago Gimenez would have liked to take it himself).

He also looked sharper physically, confirming that the Mexican is finding form after a tough start. If this is the real Santiago, Milan can look to the future with renewed optimism, because the goals will follow naturally.
