Inter Milan are plotting a January transfer swoop to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja – which could help Mauricio Pochettino fund a move to sign Brentford star Ivan Toney. football.london understands the England international is someone that has interested the Blues for a while now and when his ban from football ends in January, a move for the Brentford striker could be considered.
However, signing someone who has missed over half of the season because of a ban presents a risk in itself. Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked with a move for Toney in January which could spark a three-way bidding war.
According to London World, the Blues are leading the race to sign Toney ahead of the January transfer window. The report adds that the Brentford star is Pochettino’s ideal choice, meeting three crucial criteria; English, age profile, and proven in the Premier League.
Nicolas Jackson has had an indifferent start to life at Stamford Bridge since arriving from Villarreal in the summer. The Senegalese forward has missed some big chances despite scoring three goals in his nine appearances across all competitions.
