Tottenham 2-0 Fulham – Maddison doubles hosts’ lead

FULL-TIME

Tottenham 2-0 Fulham

All over as Tottenham go back to the top of the Premier League!

Fulham did have chances, particularly late on, but ultimately it was pretty comfortable for the hosts.

The win also means Ange Postecoglou has now enjoyed the best start to a Premier League season by a new manager, with 23 points from his nine games.

Are Spurs now in the title conversation

It looks like Fulham will get a consolation as Harry Wilson suddenly races between Tottenham defenders. He takes a couple of touches to try and work a better angle but in the end his shot is blocked by Pedro Porro.

I think a title challenge will be a big ask for Tottenham, although their exit from the Cup and no European football could be a blessing in disguise for them.

They should be aiming for the top four or five, that would guarantee them Champions League football next year.

When will the weaker teams realise you can’t play like the top teams? They don’t have the same calibre of player to warrant playing the ball out from the back. All it is doing is making football more and more predictable if everyone plays the same way.
