Former Premier League striker Dimitar Berbatov has sent a stark warning to Mauricio Pochettino when making his prediction for Chelsea’s clash with Brentford. The Blues head into the match as favourites for a number of reasons with the main one being they are on a four-game unbeaten streak in all competitions, while Brentford have one win in seven league outings.
On Brentford boss Thomas Frank, he added: “He is doing a fantastic job in a club that can develop his idea. I think he is doing a fantastic job.” Last season, the Bees took all three points from the clash at Stamford Bridge although they are without Ivan Toney and Rico Henry, who were both influential in that victory.
It is also worth mentioning that Chelsea have never beaten Brentford as the hosts with the previous campaign seeing former Tottenham star Christian Eriksen guide the Bees to an impressive 4-1 win. However, while Berbatov has predicted that Brentford will not make it three on the spin, he has made it clear that Pochettino and his players should be wary of their opponents after letting a two-goal lead slip last weekend.
In his Premier League predictions for Metro, he wrote: “I will go for Chelsea. They need to find their consistency. They pick up speed and when you’re winning 2-0 against Arsenal, that is when you need to be more solid and know how to protect that lead because Arsenal have the quality to hurt you.
