Luton Town midfielder Andros Townsend has hailed the ability of Alexis Mac Allister as “immense” after playing against the Argentine earlier this month.
Liverpool travelled to Kenilworth Road earlier this month to face Luton Town, where a last-gasp header from Luis Diaz ensured the Reds returned to Merseyside with a share of the points.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, Townsend said: “Whereas now, when the ball’s at the feet of a Gomez, Van Dijk or Konate, you’ve got three midfielders who all have the quality to get on the ball, get turned, playforward.
“You talk about Mac Allister as the No.6 now; he’s got immense quality. It’s so tough, you can’t really allow anyone to have the ball.”
