With five goals in three Premier League games in the month of October, Mohamed Salah has been named the PFA Player of the Month for the he second time in a row.
Salah beat out Man City’s Erling Haaland, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, Newcastle’s Callum Wilson, and Tottenham’s James Maddison to win the award for the second time on the bounce while helping the Reds to a 3-0 record last month.
So far this season Salah has 10 goals and four assists in 12 Premier League games. He has 12 goals in 17 total appearances so far in the 2023-24 season and is a strong candidate for the league’s golden boot, though he currently sits second and trails Haaland by three.
There has also been growing chatter in recent weeks that Salah doesn’t believe it’s time for him to give up on top European football, with it now seeming possible the 31-year-old will sign a new Liverpool deal to ensure he stays on Merseyside beyond the current campaign.
