I just feel watching him around the edge of the box, if anything lands at his feet, he’s firing them in. Trent to me, I think a lot of people in South America, and I have South American friends and they say he’s the best footballer in the world. He’s not seen as that in England, we just focus on his defensive frailties, and they said he can do what Roberto Carlos could do in a certain part of the pitch. How many footballers really can get the goals that Trent can?” Cascarino said.
Yes, he could improve defensively, but he may well be the most talented English footballer of this generation.
If he was from another country, we’d be talking about one of the best players in the world, but due to this old-fashioned view that full-backs need to be Lee Dixon-type defenders, Alexander-Arnold doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
