Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has speaking ahead of tomorrow night’s Premier League clash with Sheffield United. The Reds have been handed another injury blow ahead of the game, although there is better news on one player.

What’s happened?

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has admitted he doesn’t yet know how long Joël Matip will be out for after picking up an injury during Sunday’s win over Fulham. The German though has confirmed the problem ‘doesn’t look good.’

There is though better news on Diogo Jota. There were fears over the Portuguese international after he was forced off during the draw with Manchester City, but Klopp revealed the forward has been back running at Liverpool’s training ground.

The Reds boss also spoke about coming up against Chris Wilder once again. The 56-year-old is back in charge of Sheffield United following the sacking of Paul Heckingbottom.

What’s been said?

“I don’t know exactly but it doesn’t look good. The scan is not done yet, so we don’t know exactly,” Klopp said on Matip in his press conference.

“It’s not great. From the first second it was clear, I spoke to him and he said it’s not good, but how long I don’t know.”

On Jota, Klopp added: “He was running outside yesterday on his birthday. Everything goes in the right direction, but nobody told me he would be back in team training today, so there’s still some time.”

On Alisson Becker, Klopp said: “With Ali, the same. Obviously Ali is closer, but not available for tomorrow, definitely.”

Speaking about the challenge of coming up against Sheffield United following the change in manager, Klopp said: “I obviously remember the way Sheffield United played under Chris Wilder, [with] the overlapping wing-backs or underlapping wing-backs. That’s one part of it.

“He has a press conference now, then training after that, maybe another session tomorrow morning. We can bin our analysis, somebody told me it might happen. We will see, we have to focus on ourselves.

“I don’t think it will change too much. What can he change in that short period? We don’t have to think too much about it.”
