Live transfer news: Man Utd to Liverpool, a £25 million player being eyed, Spurs planning record transfer

The January transfer window is nearly upon us, with many Premier League clubs expected to be active in the winter market. The likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham will be looking to improve their squads when the bidding opens next month in order to prepare themselves for the business end of the campaign.

United will reportedly need to sell before they can buy, with a number of stars having been put up for sale at Old Trafford. There is also said to be the possibility of a swap deal involving Jadon Sancho, who has been exiled from Erik ten Hag’s first-team squad after refusing to apologise for a row with the Dutchman back in September.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are thought to be in the market for defensive reinforcements following Joel Matip’s latest setback. Jurgen Klopp confirmed earlier this week that the Reds ace has picked up a serious knee injury and is expected to be on the treatment table for quite some time.
