Jurgen Klopp has a few decisions to make in terms of team selection for the game against Arsenal this evening.
The Reds boss confirmed in his press conference yesterday that Ryan Gravenebrch is back, but Alexis Mac Allister has been ruled out of the game today.
Gravenberch is a fantastic player, and many Liverpool fans would want him to start alongside Wataru Endo and Dominik Szoboszlai in the middle of the park against Arsenal.
Janusz Michallik, however, believes Curtis Jones has to start in midfield today because of his Man of the Match performance against West Ham United in the Carabao Cup earlier this week.
He also claimed that Gravenberch, who missed the game against the Hammers after hobbling off the pitch against Manchester United last weekend, isn’t completely fit.
The pundit said on ESPN UK: “I think Curtis Jones, on the back of the performance that he had against West Ham, absolutely has to start and probably will because Gravenberch is probably not 100 per cent.”
Liverpool absolutely battered West Ham United in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup earlier this week, and Curtis Jones was the star of the show.
The 22-year-old started in the middle of the park for the Reds, and he was fantastic. He bossed the game in the second half and managed to score two really good goals to help them win 5-1. Jurgen Klopp raved about him after the game.
Jones’s performance midweek really warrants another start. With Alexis Mac Allister ruled out and Ryan Gravenberch only coming back today, we think he will get the nod against Arsenal.
If the £15,000-a-week (Spotrac) midfielder starts and has a good game, Liverpool will likely win and go back to the top of the Premier League table.
