I don’t feel any sympathy for Jordan (Henderson) or Bobby (Firmino) whatsoever. How can you feel sympathy for someone who has gone out there, pays no tax, and has and got paid a ridiculous amount of money?
I don’t feel sorry for them. It’s a lesson learned. The grass is not always greener on the other side, is it? Jordan’s found that out. and he has to live with it.
If they come back, they can spread the misery. It’s not always great to go out and get the money. You miss the Premier League, the attendances, the atmospheres, probably the banter in the dressing room too. Just the life in general.
When you’ve got as much money as these players have got, you don’t really need to go out there. You’re in a good way already. Your kids are in a good way, and your grandkids and great grandkids will be too. What more do you want?
I’d hate to see Jordan come back and go to a rival team to be honest though. The time he spent at Liverpool, one of the top six or seven team.
I don’t know where he’s at now, I’ve not been watching him so don’t know if he’s still capable. I’m pretty sure he’d be brilliant for a dressing room though. Brilliant for the squad, brilliant for the manager.
I don’t know where he’ll end up but it’s an interesting one. You can have all the money in the world, it doesn’t mean that you’re going to enjoy your life. It’s completely and utterly different.
When you’re getting double wages because you pay no tax, but how much money do you need? It’s a big example. You’re rich enough as it is.
These players are all rich enough. You can get different experiences in different ways and forms, but as a player, if you’ve still got a lot to give, and this is a prime example to players, of what it might be best to stay where you are.
It’s different if it’s Mo Salah, because going out there would be natural to him. He’s from the Middle East so he could fit in and adjust to the lifestyle. For these players it’s a different lifestyle, but it would be like a duck to water with Mo.
Klopp has to solve attack dilemma
We’re lop-sided in attack. You look at all our forwards, they can all play on that left-hand side. We’ve only got one player who is best on the right and that’s Mo Salah.
Elliott can play there too, but it’s not an ideal situation being lop-sided. When Jota plays on the left, he does a great job. Nunez does a great job. And Diaz, it’s his natural position.
With Mo away, maybe it’s worth looking at Diaz on the right-hand side. I don’t know what the manager’s thinking. He had a little try of something in the first half against Arsenal to counteract Mo and Endo being away, but it didn’t work.
So who can play on the right-hand side? Only he knows who is comfortable out there. It’ll be interesting to see what he does against Fulham, whether he goes with young Elliott or moves someone else over there.
Jota came on and did brilliantly again against Arsenal. Will he play down the middle? Will he play Nunez or Gakpo?
I don’t know, I honestly don’t know what he’s going to do because they can all play on the left, Gakpo, Jota, and Nunez can play down the middle, but no-one’s there on the right. It’s a real dilemma for the manager.
Liverpool can challenge for another quadruple
It’d be brilliant if we could take a cushion to Craven Cottage though, because you’d have one foot at Wembley and in a final. That’s what you look for. That’s the start.
Then we just have to stay away from injuries and take it one game at a time. It’s a cliche but it’s true. When we went for the quadruple in 2022, we didn’t have many injuries.
And when you get them, you have to deal with them. We’ve had a few this season and now we’ve lost Szoboszlai, and don’t know how long he’ll be out for.
Two players are away too, but we had players away when we went for the quadruple in Mane, Salah, and Keita. We dealt with it then, but you’ve got to be a little bit lucky with injuries.
If we don’t get many more and continue to manage them, we can do damage this season and challenge for everything. We’re top of the league and still in all the cups, but we’ll have to wait and see.
