Caoimhin Kelleher will be in goal for Liverpool when they host Fulham for the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday.

The Republic of Ireland international started each of the Reds’ previous three matches in the competition this season.

And assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders confirmed Kelleher continues between the posts as Liverpool aim to progress from the two-legged tie against the Cottagers.

“Caoimh is our No.1 for this competition, so he will start tomorrow,” Lijnders told Liverpoolfc.com on Tuesday afternoon.

On whether rotation will come into play for the 8pm GMT kick-off at Anfield, the Dutchman said: “It’s not the same [as previous rounds] because we played two days ago away at Arsenal, so that’s one.

“We come from a crazy schedule in December, so we really have to see who’s ready, who can go and who is fit to go.

“We are really happy that we play a semi-final in January, we wanted this. So we go full in.”
