Liverpool face the prospect of ANOTHER early kick-off following an international break as broadcasters ponder the latest raft of live televised games.
Sky Sports and TNT Sports are close to agreeing their picks for Premier League fixtures in March, which are expected to be announced within the next week. And TNT are considering selecting Liverpool’s home game against Brighton on March 30 – the weekend immediately following the international break that month – for their 12.30pm slot.
Sky have first choice and are almost certain to pick Manchester City’s game with Arsenal at the Emirates for the prime Sunday 4.30pm slot for that weekend, leaving TNT the second pick on a matchday in which the Reds’ clash with the Seagulls appears the most attractive next option.
Liverpool have already featured in the three early kick-offs following an international break this season, winning at Wolves and at home to Everton before drawing 1-1 at City. Under Klopp, they have featured in such a fixture 14 times out of 31 – more than double the amount of the next club on the list.
The Reds also played a 12.30pm kick-off at Crystal Palace last month with another against Brentford to come on February 17. But should the Brighton game be selected for coverage, Liverpool can only be shown live in the early kick-off on TNT Sports one more time in the campaign.
The Reds have had four such games live already this campaign, with the game at City not counting towards that total having been a Sky Sports pick that was shifted from the 5.30pm slot on police advice, with TNT Sports agreeing to switch Arsenal’s game at Brentford to the evening match.
