Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with Antonio Nusa in recent weeks, and speculation has intensified over the past few days.
On Thursday night, Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws claimed that Tottenham are in advanced talks for the Club Brugge prodigy.
If everything goes to plan’, claimed the report, then Nusa will link up with Spurs for €30million (around £26million) plus bonuses.
The Guardian, reporting on Friday, looked at interest in the 18-year-old attacker from both Tottenham and rival suitors Chelsea.
According to the report, the Blues have maintained an interest in Nusa, but would have to work hard to overtake Spurs in the race to sign him.
Tottenham have been tracking the Norwegian for a while and have taken positive steps towards ensuring they are in pole position to complete the deal, added the report.
As for Brugge, they are apparently after around £25million, and want to keep Nusa at the club until the end of the season, after which he’d be free to link up with Spurs.
Tottenham target Antonio Nusa is ‘one of the most talented wingers’ around
The reports linking Nusa with Tottenham are very exciting. The youngster has really come to the fore this season and is now one of the most highly sought-after players in Europe.
At just 18 years of age, Nusa already has 61 competitive Brugge outings and four Norway caps under his belt. That’s pretty special.
Last month, Romano told CaughtOffside that no fewer than “ten top clubs” are monitoring Nusa, and described him as “one of most talented wingers” in the game.
Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout claimed in 2022 that the Brugge gem has a similar style of play to none other than Kylian Mbappe, and rated his potential 9.5 out of 10.
Tottenham have already struck gold in terms of signing young rising stars in recent years. Other clubs will be looking on in envy at the likes of Pape Matar Sarr and Destiny Udogie , for instance.
Nusa is certainly in that category too, so let’s hope that Spurs can get a deal over the line. Indeed, keeping him at Brugge until the summer would be good for his continuing development.
