Osimhen has given the strongest hint yet he is quitting Napoli when he said at the AFCON n Cote d’Ivoire he has already taken a decision on taking his career to “next level”.
“We knew about Osimhen (leaving) since this summer,” de Laurentiis told reporters at the end of the Serie A club assembly in Milan.
“We knew perfectly well that he would go to Real Madrid, Paris St.Germain or an English team.”
The Napoli boss said the main indicator Osimhen was set on leaving the club was the long time it took the club to agree a contract extension until June 2026.
Last season, Napoli record signing helped the club win the Scudetto after a 33-year wait by scoring 26 goals, which also crowned him the top scorer of the Serie A.
Italian media have reported his new contract has a release clause of between 120 Million and 150 Million Euros.
