Jurgen Klopp oversaw his first Liverpool game since announcing he was leaving and enjoyed a goal-laden game against Norwich.

In the end, Liverpool had too much for the Championship side and cruised to a 5-2 win. For Klopp, it was typical of what his Liverpool side have been about ever since he took over the club.

The Reds had a number of their younger players on show today as well. The likes of James McConnell and Jarrell Quansah got starts, while Conor Bradley once again impressed at right back.

And watching on for the BBC, pundit Pat Nevin believes the quality those young players are showing should be reason enough for Klopp to think about not leaving.

“Liverpool have so many options now. The young players are not bit parts filling gaps they are serious players and it’s very exciting for Liverpool as everyone is coming back. Looking at the options he’s got now, why is Klopp leaving,” Nevin said.

The Reds have so much talent in the ranks now. From the most experienced players like Van Dijk and Salah, down to the very youngest in the likes of McConnell and Quansah, there is a player in every position doing the business right now.

For Klopp and Liverpool, seeing the likes of McConnell, Quansah and Bradley do so much good work will be hugely satisfying.

As Nevin says, these players are not just filling in either. They look the absolute business and there’s so much for Liverpool fans to be positive about now going forward.

With Klopp’s legacy at the club already intact, it’s easy to overlook the fact he has brought on young players and got them first-team ready.

But in the end, leaving those quality young players behind will be just as important as any trophy he’s ever won at the club.
