Mykhailo Mudryk has certainly improved compared to last season, scoring four goals in 23 appearances for Chelsea. Last term, he failed to net at all following his move to Stamford Bridge.
However, looking at some of his other numbers, there is still clearly a long way to go. As per The Athletic, the 23-year-old loses possession 5.5 times per 90 minutes, which is a higher rate than any other winger in the Premier League.
He has also lost possession 39 times per 100 touches in the current campaign, which is also the worst rate of any attacking midfielder or winger who has played more than 500 minutes in the English top flight.
As a winger, it is expected for you to lose the ball now and again as you try to take on defenders. But the above shows Mudryk is losing it too often.
Coaching from a good manager like Mauricio Pochettino will help Mudryk improve his all-round game, but to truly progress he needs regular starts.
Since joining Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk, the Ukrainian has not got that. He has been in and out of the team.
