Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that Chelsea have just rejected an attempt to sign one of their players late in the January window.
He took to Twitter to state that Wolves have seen their efforts to sign Armando Broja on loan turned down by the Blues, who have no intention to proceed with that kind of deal.
Broja is reportedly up for sale at the right price late this month, with it being claimed that the Blues were originally looking for £50m.
While it has been claimed by some that stance may have softened somewhat, it’s safe to say they are only interested in a permanent exit for the academy graduate.
Fulham are a club who are reportedly in talks to sign him, as well as Wolves. The latter appear to have made their latest move.
However, Romano has reported that the Premier League side have had their approach turned at this stage.
He said: “Understand Chelsea have rejected formal approach from Wolves for Armando Broja.
“Wolves have asked for Broja on loan but Chelsea have no intention to proceed at current conditions.”
The Blues are reportedly open to this sale taking place despite only having two recognised strikers in their squad.
Nicolas Jackson has not been available in recent weeks due to representing his country at the African Cup of Nations, however he is now set to return following Senegal’s exit last night.
Chelsea are likely to be more active in terms of strikers coming in at the end of the season, when a number of options become more attainable.
It has for a long time been believed that Victor Osimhen has been the number one target to fill the void, although his recent new contract has made that deal impossible to pull off in January.
