Hello and welcome to football.london’s live blog covering Arsenal’s Premier League match with Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium. Mikel Arteta embarks on his biggest challenge and most important game of the season so far.
Jurgen Klopp has all the momentum following an impressive midweek win over Chelsea and the emotional ties after the announcement that he will be leaving come the end of the season. This will be the last meeting between Arteta and Klopp during their current reigns at the clubs.
Liverpool won the FA Cup clash between the sides at the Emirates Stadium last month where Arsenal were incredibly frustrated with the chances that they failed to take on the day. Kai Havertz started up top but Gabriel Jesus has since returned, although there is some concern over the status of a knee problem he had to overcome to play against Nottingham Forest.
Elsewhere, Thomas Partey continues his recovery and has been in training this week. Mikel Arteta will always be cautious with the Ghanaian with the hope he can be a big part of the second half of the season.
Tom Canton and Kaya Kaynak are at the Emirates Stadium to bring build-up, match commentary and reaction. Updates to follow.
