Over the past few weeks, there has been lots of talk of the Pittsburgh Steelers trading back in the first round of the NFL draft. There are now just two days left until the 2024 NFL draft. Here is a scenario of what the Steelers draft could look like with a trade back.
Here in this scenario, the Steelers trade back with the Cardinals to move from 20 to 27 and get pick 71 along with a late-round pick swap.
After the departure of Dionte Johnson, the Steelers have a massive hole at WR2. Pittsburgh can easily fill this hole with Florida receiver Ricky Pearsall. Pearsall is a smooth route runner with great hands and should easily slot in at the Steelers WR2.
After their trade back, the Pittsburgh Steelers gained pick 71 from the Arizona Cardinals. They use this pick to add some youth to their incredible defensive line with Ruke Orhorhoro. Ruke is a versatile defensive lineman who should thrive learning from Cam Heyward.
After passing on an offensive tackle in their first three picks the Steelers selected Washington tackle Roger Rosengarten with their second pick of the third round. Rosengarten is a right tackle that should be able to compete for the starting role throughout his rookie season.
