With the Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback situation under control, everyone’s attention is on J.J. McCarthy’s potential starting window. But according to Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports, McCarthy’s time may be running out.
McCarthy is in good company, as Benjamin’s power rankings from Tuesday morning placed him 25th. McCarthy was ranked No. 23, behind Caleb Williams of the Chicago Bears, and ahead of Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders (No. 28) and Bo Nix of the Denver Broncos (No. 30).
Benjamin stated that McCarthy isn’t even certain to start in Week 1 like [Williams]. Kevin O’Connell may be in the best scenario of any rookie signal caller, with players of Pro Bowl level starting at every position in his offence. He has an easy path to achievement.
