City have one month to trigger £100m release clause on…..

Bruno Guimaraes, a midfielder for Newcastle United, has one month left until his release clause expires to be used by Manchester City and any other clubs that may be interested.

According to reports, Guimaraes has a £100 million release clause. It appears that in order for clubs to get the gifted midfield player, they would need to submit a bid of that sum by June 30.

The Brazilian has been strongly linked to City, and many have speculated that Newcastle may have to sell in order to raise money and abide by stringent Financial Fair Play regulations.

But the Magpies will be forced to sell if they receive a £100 million bid for Guimaraes. Following Newcastle’s season-ending home game, Eddie Howe refuted rumours that Guimaraes was saying goodbye to the Toon Army and reiterated his optimism that the Tyneside club will keep Guimaraes until the summer.

Following Newcastle’s 1-1 draw with Brighton, Guimaraes was visibly upset on his haunches on the pitch at full time.

“Did Bruno give a final wave? Howe remarked, “I don’t think it’s a wave goodbye.” “I believe Bruno does that frequently. However, if those in attendance concluded such was the case, it may be construed in that way. Hopefully not. We are trying to keep him because he is essential to what we’re doing.”

According to a recent report by Chronicle Live, a Newcastle-based publication, City, Arsenal, and Real Madrid are the three clubs that are reportedly interested in the 26-year-old.

Lucas Paqueta of West Ham has long been coveted by City, and an £80 million summer transfer to the Etihad Stadium is anticipated. After the midfielder was prosecuted by the FA for potential betting violations, that now seems doubtful. If City is prepared to pay the money, his compatriot Guimaraes would be a good fit.
